March 2013–Boston Screening Announced
2013 marks the 7th year of “The Great Burlesque Exposition”, a Boston Burlesque festival. Exotic World and the Burlesque Revival is proud to be featured among the weekend’s activities.
March 2013–Special Screening in Tucson
Exotic World and the Burlesque Revival enjoyed a special screening of Exotic World and the Burlesque Revival, followed by a Q&A with filmmaker Red Tremmel and a burlesque show in Tucson, AZ at Fluxx Studio and Gallery. Donations from the event went to the Institute of LGBT Studies at the University of Arizona.
February 2013–Exotic World at the Big Sky Documentary Festival
Exotic World and the Burlesque Revival screened at the 10th annual Big Sky Documentary Film Festival in Missoula, MT in February. Producer Courtney Hermann and Editor Kerribeth Elliott were on hand.

September 2012–New York Premiere of Exotic World at the 12th Annual Coney Island Film Festival
Exotic World and the Burlesque Revival screened on Sunday, September 23rd at the Coney Island museum. Co-Producer Jessica Halem and Post-Production Coordinator Ali Cotterill were on hand representing the Exotic World team.
September 2012–The Portland, OR Premiere of Exotic World and the Burlesque Revival
The Portland premiere of Exotic World and the Burlesque Revival was on September 29th at 7:30pm at the historic Hollywood Theatre as a part of NW Documentary’s screening series. A great crowd showed up to see the film. Producer Courtney Hermann and Editor Kerribeth Elliott were on hand to introduce the film and answer questions afterwards.
September 2012–Exotic World Encore Screening at dOCUMENTA
Due to the popularity of the World Premiere screening of Exotic World at dOCUMENTA in Kassel, Germany in June, dOCUMENTA programmers organized two showings of Exotic World and the Burlesque Revival at the closing of the exhibition on September 8th.
June 2012–WORLD PREMIERE of Exotic World and the Burlesque Revival
EWBR Director Red Tremmel and artist/EWBR crew member Ruth Robbins travelled to Kassel, Germany for the 2012 dOCUMENTA art exhibition where they installed an exhibit called on Burlesque, which was open for 100 days. Then, on June 10th, Exotic World and the Burlesque Revival enjoyed a world premiere at this important exhibition of modern art–an event that only happens once every 5 years and features art from around the world.
May 2012–Finally!
Finally! We have worked all year long, slogging through our final post-production ups and downs, and are poised to get this film out into the world! The first DVDs are slated to ship in the Fall to our much beloved Kickstarter supporters.
June 2011–Sneak Preview Slated for the 2011 Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend
Director Red Tremmel and crew will travel to the 2011 Burlesque Hall of Fame Reunion in Las Vegas, NV to show a sneak preview of Exotic World and the Burlesque Revival.
May 2011–Kickstarter Campaign Launches!
This is it! We must raise $25,000 to release this film! Our campaign covers a portion of what we need for finishing costs (mastering, archival footage, music licensing, color correction, etc.) and anything over our goal will go towards the other major aspects of releasing the film like: festival applications, distribution, etc. Donate now on our KICKSTARTER PAGE
January 2011–Margaret Cho Performs Narration
The Exotic World crew traveled to Los Angeles, CA to record the film’s narration. Jessy Hoffman offered recording skills and Margaret Cho generously provided voice talent. You can hear Margaret’s first narration cue in the updated clip posted here on the EW website.
September 2010–Post-Production in Full Swing
Under the watchful eye of Editor Kerribeth Elliott, Exotic World and the Burlesque Revival is in rough cut form and is inching closer to final cut every day!
June 2010–Pick Up Shots Complete
Director Red Tremmel and crew traveled to Miss Exotic World 2010 in Las Vegas, NV and then made the trip out to Helendale, CA to complete production on Exotic World and the Burlesque Revival.
